This morning we set off on our biggest road trip yet, where we'll see the remaining mid-western states.
Our first mini-stop was Stuart in Iowa to see a bank which had been robbed by Bonnie & Clyde.
We then headed to Des Moines for lunch.
We drove around a cemetery which was in the middle of a traffic circle.
We couldn't resist stopping in at Cup O Kryptonite.
It's a cool coffee shop and comic book store like the one in Kick-Ass (2010).
I loved this girls rule bag.
We then grabbed lunch at Zombie Burgers.
It was a zombie lovers paradasie.
I had The Walking Ched veggie burger.
The burger was a veggie pattie with onions sandwiched in between to buns made from fried mac n cheese.
We got back on the road and after a few hours we arrived in Iowa City where we went for a drink at the Hamburg Inn.
Every president since Ronald Reagan has been to this diner, so we knew it would be good.
We shared a pie shake, which was made from an entire slice of bourbon pecan pie blended with ice cream. We didn't manage to finish it but it was really tasty.
We then passed the world's largest truck shop which also has a museum but was closed.
We crossed the state line in to Illinoise and stopped at the Welcome Centre which was closed due to budget cuts and didn't have any free hats.
We arrived in to Chicago around midnight and checked in to our $28 a night motel (which includes free breakfast) before falling asleep.
