Josiane Berube • Cat Morley

This week we chat to my subscriber Josiane Bérubé, an information management technician and part-time cupcake business owner from Gatineau, Québec in Canada.

Josiane discovered me at the end of the spring while looking for new crafty projects. She loves any books by Patrick Sénécal, her boyfriend is her hero and her favourite possession is her pet bulldog, named Roméo.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a vet because I love animal so much. And my dream job would be having my own company, being my own boss, and doing that full time! I already have my own Cupcakes business but it's only part time (Life is sweet cupcakes et sucreries, on FB)

Where should we visit if we come to your town?

Definitely you have to go by Gatineau Park, it is huge and perfect for any bike or hiking lover. I do a lot of cycling over there. And also you have to go by the Bytown market area in Ottawa for all the shops, restaurants and art gallery. And last, if you go in the winter time we have the longest skate way in the way, it's on Rideau Canal and you can eat a delicious Beavertails at the same time :)

Where do you look for inspiration?

When I look for inspiration I go a lot online on interest to find new blogs to follow, also tumblr for everything and Lookbook.nu for fashion inspiration. I find anything street art very inspirational and easy to connect with.

"My dream job would be having my own company, being my own boss, and doing that full time!"

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

The best advice I ever got is to choose your battles. I'm still working on that, it's a very long process to achieve.

What would your three wishes be?

I would want more time in a day to do my never-ending "to do list". I would like to stop being so fussy about food and I would like to be able to travel more.
