It was the Omaha Farmer's Market this morning, so we had a look around and resist trying all the yummy looking samples. It's on every Saturday, which will be great when we start cooking.
Today we went for lunch at The Diner which was in a proper old fashioned shack.
I had a tuna melt which was a little bit too greasy for my liking but the staff were proper American waitresses and really friendly.
Afterwards we went to Ted & Wally's where they make their own ice cream.
There were dozens of flavours to choose from but Tom and I shared a black walnut shake.
I got to try on a Mexican wrestling mask!
We stopped in to Joe's Collectibles on the way home where Tom had a play on the organs he has for sale.
In the evening we headed to the Westfair Ampitheatre in Council Bluffs, Iowa to see Bright Eyes and Jenny Lewis' new band.
Jenny And Johnny came onstage as the sun was setting. The best bit of the set was when Jenny sang Silver Lining. We bumped in to Mike Mogis again and he gave us a new list of places to check out and introduced us to another Scottish person living in Omaha.
It was really dark by the time Bright Eyes came on and you could see the stars. It was still really hot out. The gig ended around midnight and we weren't sure how to get home but we managed to cab share with a lovely couple who also lived in downtown.
