It was a really lovely evening, so we decided to head up Blackford Hill for a picnic at sunset. The view was amazing.
We brought a disposable barbecue and Tom cooked tuna steak muffins and chili prawn skewers while I attempted to chop up an ahi tuna salsa.
I was a little worried that some of my photos wouldn't turn out as the sun was so bright but then I ran this one from HDR on Google+ and it brought out all the colours. The before and after is incredible.
I spotted a shrew on our way back to the car. It was super quick and I had to rush to take a photo.
Tom and I went to see Lucy and Sin City 2 in Glasgow in the evening and on our drive home, I received an aurora alert on my phone.
Tom drove me up to the top of Blackford Hill so I could get a good view but it was too cloudy to see anything. We did get some practise at taking long exposure shots in though, so we'll be prepared when we get the next alert and the sky is clear.
We headed up Blackford Hill in the evening, as it was the perfect spot to watch the End Of Festival Fireworks concert at the castle.
We packed a picnic, prosecco and kept ourselves entertained by playing Heads Up! on the iPhone.
The hill started to busy up as the sun set and we had the perfect spot when the fireworks started.
We could see the smoke from the fireworks blowing all the way down the Royal Mile afterwards and the weather held out until the very last firework when it started bucketing down and we were glad Fig was waiting to drive us home.
